Preparatory
4 to 6 years old
"Piu piu piu. Vrooooom. Whooshhh. I CAN FLY! The houses and trees and people below me are so small, they look like tiny ants! I see my house from the skies, my mummy is waving at me! HI MUMMY! But wait.. what do I hear way out in the distance? I think someone is calling for help. Incredibleman to the rescue! I fly down towards the call for help. Its a child trapped in a tree. I fly towards her and carry her safely to the ground. She gives me a big hug, to say thank you. My good deed of the day is done and I can go to sleep happy."
Nothing is more powerful than a child's imagination. All they need to do is to think about what they want to be and poof! that's what they are. So it's safe to say that education without imagination is like telling a story without actions or watching television in black and white. A life with imagination is full of colours. Have you been imagining today?
Imagination at work and at play.
Why preparatory? The better question is, why NOT preparatory? In preparatory, we prepare children for the big world. We prepare them through their social skills, their academic skills, their intellectual skills as well as their emotional skills in an imaginative way. Activities in preparatory class will be more structured without losing its personality. More big group activities will be implemented in preparatory class, teaching children to work together and to cooperate with each other.
