Principle 1
The first 5 years as the key foundation for lifelong development of child’s mental, psychological and physical well-being. A child’s interactions and relationships with significant ones in the early life act as crucial roles in determining the child’s perceptions about the world.
It is interesting to notice that the little ones behave as the “mini us”. They observe and practice what they have seen from their significant adults. Children enjoy imitate our behaviors and habits, most of the girls enjoy dressing up like their mother while fixing stuffs is the favorite activity of boys which resemble their father.
While building the foundation for your child, think of your own everyday experiences and practices, consider these questions:
What is your view of children?
How do you engage with children? Are your interactions responsive and positive?
How do you support the development of self-regulation skills?
Do day-to-day experiences that you provide engage the children and challenge their thinking?
How do you make experiences and interactions meaningful to each child, based on their unique abilities, interests
and life experiences?
